From suomenratsut.fi news 22.9.12
This was the first time the festival was organized and it gathered a decent amount of people to Senaatintori market square to introduce themselves to the 19th century life and culture.
One especially interesting feature in the festival seemed to be the amount of horses, as Suomenratsut (finnhorse riders’ association) and Työhevosharrastajat (work horse club) organized popular events and horses for the day.
Popular Finnish actor, also known for his riding career, Ville Virtanen, played ceremony master Anton Cronstedt and one of the biggest events was his ride to Senaatintori on a magnificent black stallion. Helsinki has been the capital of Finland since 1812, for two hundred years.
