Akseli Lahtinen drove the wonder gelding to win on a muddy track with astonishing winning km-time 1.22,4 in the Tähtisprintteri (Star Sprinter) one mile race. Erikasson challenged Pihlajan Aaroni fiercefully but had to bend for third place, as Köppinen spurted in the end for silver place.

“This was the most staifactory win after the Suur-Hollola race” told Akseli Lahtinen. “This year many races have been cancelled, and once we had to scratch because he was ill, that’s why we have had only six races this year, but we are racing in Skellefteå, Sweden next week.” Jorma Kontio is going to take the reins as Lahtinen is at Oulu races at the time.

I'm a Finnish horse enthusiast. This blog is my tribute for the national horse of Finland. I started in 2009. My aim is to provide information about this multipurpose horse breed in English, in all its variety -as a historical and cultural figure, modern sport horse, friend and a companion.
