This week’s Toto75-round is raced exceptionally on Sunday because Finnish schools end their semester on Saturday. There are two bigger races this week, as finnhorses’ Grand Championship race (Suurmestaruus) and K-Maatalous Cup finals.

Seppo Suuronen stable is chasing the 15 000 euro prize with two horses, Villihotti and Franko. The race is one mile long.

“We heated 2000m in 1.33 for both on Wednesday. They both feel fine, we go for what we can get” says Suuronen. He is not getting to race too arrogantly, even though Villihotti is the ruling trotter king and Franko has earned winnings more than any other finnhorse this year. “Open class races are tough and even.”

Last year the Suurmestari title went to Suuronen’s stable as well, when Tuokkolan Touho spurted to win. The stallion is having a small break at the moment, but according to Suuronen he is returning soon.

K-Maatalous Cup is a newer big-prize race for rising finnhorses. The winner will be awarded with 10 000 euro.  These finalists are also potential trotting championships finalists in the upcoming years..
